Diving in the Philippines is magical. The warm, clear waters of the Philippines are luxuriant with pristine reefs and some of the most diverse and exotic marine life to be found anywhere. The archipelago is home to more than 3000 species of fish and 448 species of coral (compared to 700 species of fish and 100 species of coral in the entire Caribbean). The diving is diverse, too; there is drift diving, muck diving, wall diving, wreck diving, all fascinating, all photogenic. On any given day you may see frogfish, scorpion fish, a wide variety of nudibranchs, flat worms and sea slugs, yellow, brown, red and pygmy sea horses, schools of Jacks, schools of batfish, sand eels, garden eels, moray eels, many anenome fish, octopus, soft corals, sea fans, nurse sharks, banded sea snakes, schools of anthias, ghost pipefish, and much, much more!

Atlantis Beach Resort Dumaguette is on the island of Negros, southern part of Visayas across Cebu Island. Atlantis is a 1 hour and 15 minute flight from Manila. Upon arrival into Dumagette, we will be met and assisted by an Atlantis Resort representative and transferred by van approximately 20 minutes through the bustling village of Dumagette. The resort sits on a 1.5 kilometer stretch of golden sand beach. Nestled in a secluded tropical garden, Atlantis is designed with the elegance of Asian architecture, and constructed from indigenous Filipino materials. The resort offers spacious accommodations, a pool, dive shop, gift shop, oceanfront dining and bar. The dining is a great part of the experience in Dumagette, not to mention the quality service in all aspects of the resort. Guests describe Atlantis as "a serene native paradise, hosting modern amenities, a pleasing blend of tradition with a distinctive touch of luxury."

The diving features full-day trips, five-minute local muck dives from the resort, and the house reef. Dive the house reef as often as you wish by day and experience the mating mandarin fish and a myriad of other nocturnal creatures by night.

The climate is tropical. Air temperature should be 80-85°. All you will need is light, casual clothing. We will be diving the northern islands. The water temperature averages 80-82°. A 4/3mm full suit is recommended. Bring a polartec and 3mm hooded vest if you tend to chill or if the water temperature is unexpectedly cooler. The island offers a host of topside adventures. Bring walking shoes and a camera and mix your diving with jungle excursions, cave exploring, hiking to the mountain lakes, hill walking to the waterfalls and hot springs. Atlantis is equally suited for nondivers and those who just want to relax.
